How do I get code violation records in Fort Lauderdale, Florida?
Fort Lauderdale code enforcement cases are free to pull from gis.fortlauderdale.gov, the city's public map data directory. The Code Cases layer's query form returns every case — case number, type, status, site address, parcel ID, and opened date — with no account needed.
How do I pull code violations records step by step?
Fort Lauderdale's point-and-click Code Case Tracker app is currently being rebuilt, but the underlying code enforcement case records are still public on the city's map data directory, where you can pull the whole list at once.
Know where the data lives
Fort Lauderdale's point-and-click Code Case Tracker app is currently being rebuilt, and its notice page points to LauderBuild Search for one-property lookups. The underlying code case records are still public, though — you can pull the whole list straight from the city's map data directory.
Open the Code Cases layer
Navigate to the city's public Code Cases layer page on gis.fortlauderdale.gov. This page lists the fields available for every code enforcement case in the city — no account needed.
Open the search form
Scroll to the bottom of the layer page and click the Query link to open the search form for the case records.
Pull the newest cases first
In the Where box type 1=1 (which means "all records"), in the Order By Fields box type INITDATE DESC so the most recently opened cases come back first, and in Out Fields type * to get every column. To narrow to recent activity only, use a Where like INITDATE > DATE '2026-01-01' instead of 1=1.
Run the search
Set Format to HTML and click Query (GET). The results appear as a readable list, one block per code case.
Record the data
For each lead, capture the case number (CASENUM), case type (CASETYPE), case status (CASESTATUS), site address (SITEADDRESS), city and ZIP, parcel ID (PARCELID), and the opened date (INITDATE). To see the full history on any single property, search its address in LauderBuild, then match the parcel ID against Broward County property records for the owner's name and mailing address.
